Growth of organizations gives birth to numerous web applications. Providing consistent authentication and authorization across numerous web applications in an enterprise poses a major challenge. Secure Web Gateway (SWG) provides protection to web applications as a front-line defence. Any user wanting to access protected web applications would need to pass the authentication and authorization criteria enforced by SWG. In addition to the basic authentication and authorization provided, SWG can also be configured to provide Web Single Sign-On (SSO). SWG acts as the Policy Enforcement Point (PEP) in conjunction with the Access Manager which acts as the Policy Decision Point (PDP).
