Application and Database Server Redundancy:
Application Servers: Hosted environment comprises of 2 Application Servers in active/active mode for redundancy and load balancing. In the event of failure of one of the application servers, the requests are processed by the other active application server. There is a Global Cache of the session maintained across the application servers which ensures High Availability of the Application Servers.
Database Servers: Hosted environment comprises of a Primary Database and Standby Database. Archive Logs from the primary database are shipped / replicated to Standby Database using certain replication tools. In the event of Primary Database Server failure, the Secondary Database assumes the role of Primary Database.
Magnaquest adopts appropriate data storage, back-up and security measures, to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your data.
The following is practised.
- The Service places its database server that stores the data behind a physical firewall
- The access to these servers is strictly restricted to the support staff. The support staff access only through secured VPN connection
- The VPN access to these server is regularly monitored
- The support staff accesses the data only if there is absolute need to check it during the troubleshooting process
- Data is replicated onto a secondary database server to be used as a fail-over server
- Managed backup utility routinely takes the backup of data on secondary media on daily basis to minimise data loss, if any
